2010 Camaro may be delayed due to Supplier Lawsuit
The delay of the 2010 Camaro is a real possibility. General Motors has sued parts supplier Cadence Innovation who supplies door trim, airbag covers and instrument panels for the 2010 Camaro among other vehicles. The company recently filed for bankruptcy which is not that big of a deal but they have decided to hold hostage all the machininery which GM provided to them to manufacture the parts.
The lawsuit filed by GM is demanding Cadence release the equipment and parts so there will be no disruption in the supply of certain component parts. The release of the equipment will allow GM to look elsewhere for other suppliers to take over the parts manufacturing. GM also states a delay of one day could cause a shutdown of GM's assembly operations along with disrupting GM's countless suppliers, dealers, customers and other stakeholders. If a new supplier is not found by January 12th, GM will be forced to delay the Camaro.
